Savita (name changed) is a 62-year-old woman who has been living alone in her two storied house for three years. Before that, though her son and his family were living with her on the floor above where she lived, still she used to be alone the majority of times. This was since the past six years. Her husband had expired 14 years back following which she was supported by her daughter who was living with her. But after the daughters’ marriage, she started experiencing loneliness again. Though her son was staying there and she used to find peace with her granddaughter, but some interpersonal conflicts started developing. After some time, her son and his family had to shift to another country for work purposes. This made her lonely again.
She could have been with her son, or lived with her daughter which was anytime possible, but she chose to live alone as she was very much attached to the house she was living in, it being constructed by her late husband. Her daughter tried that one of her cousins along with his family shift there, whom she was very fond of. But that also couldn’t happen. And it seemed to be a choice of self-imposed loneliness.
When her issues were discussed, she explained that it was unacceptable for her, when anyone failed to comply to what she said or wanted. It was more problematic for her than being alone. As by being alone, she would live as she wanted, with no restrictions. Less than she realized that by being alone deliberately, she was controlling her experiences. So, by mutual consent, the theme of “controlling the situations” was set for the session.
Two past life regression therapy sessions were conducted:
In the first PLRT session, she experienced herself as a princess in an area of Rajasthan. She saw events from her childhood till she was young. Most of the times, a boy of her age would be with her (whom she stated that he was her friend, and became her love interest later on). Wherever she went, either in the forest / temple etc, a batch of soldiers would accompany her from behind, protecting her throughout.
But one day, when she had grown into an adult, she tried to move beyond fast, ahead of the soldiers, so that she could be alone and be herself. But as she moved ahead alone, a shepherd came in her way and tried to harm her. In that moment, in order to protect herself, she jumped off the cliff and died on the spot.
Misaligned beliefs:
“I failed to protect myself”
“I controlled my journey”
“I am weak alone”
The understanding which she received from her higher self:
If she would have remained with other people, she would have remained protected and fine. So, in moving ahead alone, she controlled her situation, which led to the unwanted circumstance in her lifetime.
Here the core issue was not that she couldn’t protect herself while she was alone, but it was the learning related to controlling the situation. That controlling her situation, and ‘NOT’ being alone had actually harmed her. If she would have been alone, but without the intent of controlling her situation, then she would not have experienced the said adverse situation.
The misaligned beliefs got corrected during the session. Her lack of understanding was modified in context to the higher understanding for her situation, with her consent.
Though she was bit settled after the session, but there was something more.
Next PLRT session was planned the next day in order to find the source of the above lifetime.
In the second session, she viewed herself as a small girl who stood alone by a water body, with mountains all around. Thereafter she saw herself as a teenage and then as an adult, again being alone in the mountains. Sometimes she saw herself in an ancient Shiv temple, the walls of which were constructed with mud. Then she viewed herself living in a cave, all alone. She saw herself worshipping Lord Shiva, meditating in a sadhana. She would not consume food for multiple days while she was in sadhana. When she was viewing herself as always being alone repeatedly, then she was asked to move towards the time of her death in that lifetime.
Her death occurred due to getting injured after falling from mountains. She saw a group of people doing her last rites, and submerging her body in the flowing river. As she was not living with anyone, her last rites remained a simple one with not much customs involved.
When her soul got released in that lifetime, she was asked about her understanding in that lifetime. When she was unable to get anything, she was asked to connect to any deity or her being whom she trusted to help her understand the learnings from that lifetime, related to her present life situation. She then views Lord Shiva pointing towards a village. When she was asked what it meant, she said that she received the understanding of being with people.
While she was in sadhana, and always being alone, she was controlling her life situations and thus hampering her own evolution process. When Lord Shiva pointed towards the village, it made her understand that letting go of her control by being with others, was the only way to resolve the conflicts she was facing in her present life. That it was the only way for her evolution in all aspects. And that control was just futile.
When she understood these learnings and the connection of her past with her present, tears came out of her eyes. That overwhelmed state was her state of bliss, when she shed all of her past controls. The control was because of the stuck memory at the deeper levels of her mind. The release was necessary for her complete healing.
When the session ended, she felt very light and peaceful, as if a very big load was lifted off her mind and body. Her expressions got crisp and clear, and she started feeling happy within. Her worries reduced, and she started taking an interest in interacting with people and her relatives. Her relationship with her daughter in law improved.
Within twenty days, all of a sudden, the cousin and his family whom she was very fond of, expressed his willingness of living at her place. And within the next ten days, he actually shifted. Her experiences actually started changing with immediate effect. And this could only happen due to her complete surrender in the process and the results. She had never expected that her situation would change blissfully all of a sudden, and probably this lack of expectation along with a complete trust led to a complete change of her internal and external experiences
This is how Past Life Therapy works at a deeper level to transform situations for the highest best. It actually leads to a spiritual transformation which in turn leads to the change of life situations. It heightens the understanding of our past experiences, the lack of understanding of which makes any perceived adverse situation in our present lives to persist.
